ABOUT MEGAN

I completed my Bachelors in Psychology from Purdue University and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Saint Francis.  I am licensed by the State of Indiana and have gone on to obtain the highest designated national addiction certification  -  Master Addiction Counselor.

I spent 15 years in the child welfare field working with families, children, and adolescents both in and out of the home. In 2013, I began working in private practice with both individuals and families along with conducting court ordered substance abuse groups. In 2015, I was fortunate enough to be able to open my own private practice with a business partner.   However, in 2017, a new opportunity appeared to start my own private practice and I felt compelled to pursue it.

While change can be scary, it also can also be positive.  Out of this positivity, Thrive Therapy and Integrated Wellness, LLC, was born.  It is my vision of what therapy should  be and is a culmination of all my previous experience.  It is my hope that with this change, I will be better able to serve my clients in the present, as well as in the future.

My specialties include treatment of families, adults and children along with addictions and abuse/trauma.  I have received training and certifications in treatments for trauma, attachment issues and addictions. Therapy is provided from a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive-behavioral, solution focused brief therapy, existential, and positive psychology.

With my clients, I take a holistic and integrative approach to mental health care which allows me to see, understand and respond to my client's challenges in a novel way. It is a whole-person approach that includes all aspects and layers of that person's life. Each and every client is seen as an individual with unique needs and every session is tailored to those needs. How the mind, body and spirit are interconnected are explored with the client and put back into the context of their world.  With this information, values and goals are clarified with the client giving a vision of hope rather than focusing on negative symptomology.

In addition to therapist, I also enjoy the role of life and health/wellness coach.  Perhaps you are going through a life transition or have a goal you would like to reach.  Or would like to develop your personal or business life.  Maybe you are searching for your true purpose or meaning.  I can help.  Life coaching presents you with new ways of seeing things, accountability and encouragement.  We will explore your core strengths and how to better utilize those to reach your full potential.  Together, we set measurable goals to track your progress each step along your journey.
